One in every three consumers worldwide wants to buy local, according to the recent “Generation Zillennial Report” and tech firm Glovent’s mobile platform enables merchants to reach South African estate residents with a preference for local goods.

South Africa is blessed with a diverse private sector highly capable of satisfying increasing demand for products and services with a local flavour. “Many consumers previously coveted overseas shopping. Now it’s all about what locally-sourced product they can secure from the comfort of their estate,” says Anton Potgieter, Glovent CEO.

Glovent’s smartphone app is an estate management system that enables local, regional and national merchants to connect with the residents of over 100 estates and it’s already notching up some 500 000  impressions monthly.

Overseas, the vast majority of new jobs are being created by businesses serving local needs and there’s every reason to believe the same is true in South Africa. With the Glovent Advertising Hub, merchants can reach estate residents actively interested in goods and services with a local flavour through static or rotating ads on the platform’s community management module and the mobile member app.

The former is a community management tool assisting management committees with the efficient day to day organisation of their community, while the latter provides a single interface for community members to interact with their estate. As such, the Glovent estate-focused app provides the perfect platform to connect gated communities with local goods and services, or regional and national products designed with particular estates in mind.

“Semigration and estate living are two of the biggest SA property trends in recent times. Advertisers now have an efficient way to implement highly-granular campaigns focused on South Africans who have made these choices,” says Potgieter.

With Glovent’s gated community app, The app is designed to foster engagement and

merchants can leverage this interaction to create a more personalised experience for potential clients. Comprehensive analytics and deep reporting combine to assist the effectiveness of banner campaigns.

The Glovent advertising hub can incorporate national, regional and estate-specific home page banners, facility booking banners and banners on the pages where residents load visitor details through the smartphone app.

With the Glovent smartphone app, estate residents can effortlessly access essential information, receive real-time notifications from community managers, book facilities, generate visitor access codes, and submit help desk tickets – all from the convenience of their mobile devices.
